Successful competitors from this event will if eligible qualify for consideration to European and World team England.

Sponsors of the competition Airflo provided a reel and medal for the winner, and vouchers for the second and third place, each entrant was given an Airflo Ridge Line.

The competition was from 10am to 3.30pm with a 30min lunch break at 1pm.The winner was decided by the number of fish caught, all fish being returned to the water. The Island and Mallard lakes were used for the competition, which were divided into 15 fishing positions or pegs, competitors moved two positions every 30mins.

Weather conditions were good, the lakes being calm for most of the morning then a slight westerly breeze in the afternoon.

During the first half most fish were taken either on buzzer or static blob. Jeremy Lucas was in the lead at lunch time with 10 fish, Ryan Barron close behind with 9 fish. After lunch Jeremy changed to dry fly as there were a number of rising fish around the lake while Ryan stuck with his buzzer/ blob combination.

The competition was very close until the final peg when Ryan caught the maximum 4 fish to finish with 19 fish, 3 ahead of Jeremy.

Ryan Barron was presented with his medal and reel by fishery owner Shelley Riddell.
The CEFF North Region Team heat will be held at Bessy Beck on Thursday 3rd May.
