Angling Report
Mid July 2007
Mid June to mid July was wet and windy for most of the time. Fish were confused, particularly following the earlier hot and dry weather. Evening rises, normally good at this time of year, were nonexistent as the cooling effect of the wind and rain seemed to prevent hatches occurring.
Fish were still being caught throughout the day on a large variety of fly patterns. However damsels and buzzers were the most successful.
The best catch of the period was by Mr. Devine who caught 37 fish, mainly on buzzer. Alan Entwhistle from Fleetwood had 16 on Damsel and Mr. Johnson 21 using a variety of flies. The best fish of the month, 6lb 8oz, was caught by Eddie Vaughan from Penrith using a small nymph.
